Project: Annual Report for Port of PT
This featured project is an annual report for the Port of Port Townsend. Each spring, approximately 8,000 copies are inserted into the newspaper of record for Jefferson County as a way to reach this government entity’s stakeholders: the taxpayers who fund it and enjoy its services.
Called the Community Report, the publication aims to remind readers of the Port district’s mission and its properties and services (as diverse as marinas, a shipyard and an airport). There are sections for financials and news updates as well as information on how to get involved in the Port’s public processes.
Each year we select a different angle of the Port’s mission and cover that theme. Year 1 (2009) was the Port’s public ownership; Year 2 (2010) was its stewardship of the environment; Year 3 (2011) was the Port’s role as an economic driver.

Since 2008, I have produced 2-3 print newsletters per year for this client, plus an annual report. I am always impressed by the progress the Port has to report each year, as its elected commission and staff work earnestly to improve Jefferson County.
