BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. — On our extended travels through the United States, we’ve found there are few places where saying, “We’re from Port Townsend,” generates immediate recognition.
There’s only one city where it has earned us big hugs and heartfelt appreciation from perfect strangers—Bay St. Louis.
Since Hurricane Katrina hammered the Gulf Coast last August, folks in this devastated historic seaport and arts community have come to feel a kinship with us, thanks to the sister-city relationship between the two cities.
